Again, scratching my already-written post for today. Because this one couldn’t wait.
It’s February. Here. And everywhere. Stating the obvious, but necessary facts. This time of year matters to Minnesotans. Because of the season. The hockey season.
Right now a lot is at stake for kids.
Mites. Peewees. Bantams. JV. Varsity.
All of them are prepping for the big finale. The end to their hard-played seasons.
I know a few who are wrapping up the year. Going for the gold, so to speak. And I’m so proud of them. These kids, on the brink of adulthood, who have earned their spots and fought their way through years of early-morning practices and nail-biting games, are what hockey in Minnesota is all about.
So, with Hockey Day Minnesota occurring tomorrow (2/12/11), Sections, and State looming, I wanted to make sure I celebrated at least one French Fry Friday Minnesota hockey style.
Have a French Fry Friday kind of day!
And if you’re playing Minnesota hockey right now — GOOD LUCK!
I ask. You answer.
- Know anybody playing this weekend? Either in a Hockey Day Minnesota game or Section game?
