Up. Up. And. Away.

I slept peacefully last night…and here’s why…

Ahhhh, see ya, BC.

When I checked the score last night and saw that CC was up 7-2 with 12 minutes left in the third, I knew the Tigers had those Eagles trapped. With the final score of 8-4, CC proved how the West was won. The Schwartz brothers are pretty dynamite. Let’s just say, the Tigers are back and hungry for more.

Not quite sure how I feel about the UNO-MI game. Sounds like it was a bad call by the refs. What did I tell ya, I’ve seen too many important games blown because of bad calls. But Blais is a classy guy, so he made no comments on the official’s final call. But what a come-back story for the Dean-O. His first year back coaching D1 – a first year D1 school – and he was WCHA coach of the year. His Mavericks will be a force to the reckoned with, that’s for sure.

UMD is a strong, special teams type of team. Kenny Reiter shut out Union, despite UMD’s nine PK’s. Shows how those East Coast refs have no clue what real hockey looks like. Last time I checked, checking is allowed in men’s hockey. But thankfully UMD’s PP scored their two goals on two of their PP ops.

WCHA is alive and kicking, folks.

Cheering on Denver University and…gulp…North Dakota Fighting Sioux today. Let’s just hope the refs put their whistles away and let the WCHA boys show the rest of the college hockey world how hockey is supposed to be played.
